Merahputih
Acara ‘tujuh-belasan’

Diskriminasi terkikis, berganti nasionalis.

However, I’m proud to be an Indonesian.”

Dirgahayu
Indonesiaku, jayalah engkau selalu.

Wonderful Weekend Ever

Well..well… routinity had cost me piggy syndrome at weekend. Lazying around and enjoying my life with no ‘REPORT’ and ‘SUPERVISING’. Really-really peaceful and down to earth, just staying at home, and be low profile :)

So, let me share some interesting highlights in the wind at home this week. (sounds so happening, huh?)

1. Tuesday, 31 July 2007 - The Falling of Melinjo Tree

Pohon_tumbang2_1

It was raining heavily, plus damn strong wind, turbulence. I was on deadline and so busy that I didn’t even know wats happening outside. Just on my way back home late at 10pm, i realized that there’re so many tree branches and trunkes downfell on the roadside, all over and all along. Right after I reached home, my busy-body maid couldnt wait to tell me the story of the falling Melinjo tree (Gnetum gnemon L, this tree can grow very tall). It’s the TWIN Melinjo tree I can say, cos there’re two of them. One flop down near the fish ponds, another one collapse on my grandma’s sister’s house (which is connected to our house). There’s small fire caused by the short circuit breakdown which fortunately put off immediately. Thanks God. Well… see this 10m++ trees above.Dad spent almost one million rupiah just to hire a big tractor or watever to get rid of it.

2. Saturday, 4 August 2007 - My Lil’ Brother
Okut_2

Mommy is lonely after my younger sister, Ching, left for study. I think that’s why she adopted a new kiddo. This litte fella. Mom will bring it all around everyday, go to office, go throw rubbish, go to kitchen, go to her room.. and this fella really really particularly picky when comes to food. Can u imagine!! It ate Mie Pansit Akhun for breakfast! My Gosh!!! High maintanance, man… Ckckck…

It’s somehow so troublesome huh, we spent 2 days just to find the suitable name to call it. Mom called him Moly at first, then after 2 mins she called it Albert, she said that’s what its previous owner called it. Then she mumbled to herself, that sounds like one of her cousin’s son’s name and she would kill my mom if know about it. Then My brother called it San Qiu (Thinny) because it’s so skinny. Then here I comes, "Hey, I got an idea, we called him Mr. Q!" But it didn’t last long. My second try, Martini, but sounds so girly. Finally my third try sounded amazing to them, ‘O Kutz‘ means Black Bone in Hok Kian. Simply because he’s dark and has no meat. Kewl!!! Hey, this O Kutz so lasak!! jump here and there, I couldnt take its pictures sharp enough in that lighting. Blur blur…

3. Saturday, 4 August 2007 - Sejuta Pelita Sejuta Harapan
Sejutablog

On the evening, my brother, me and mom went to Lapangan Benteng to attended this Buddhist event called ‘Sejuta Pelita, Sejuta Harapan’. Straight translation means ‘A Million of light, A Million of Hope." There’re around 7000 people there, almost hit the numbers on Jacky Cheung’s concert :p The whole event’s not bad lah. It was to wish the goodness for Indonesia on it’s 62nd independece day. Long time I never made serious and fully sincere contemplation on something.

Best thing of all, we’d succesfully brought mom out a while from home. Usually she’s so lazy one. She’s so much in her comfort zone at home. At least now, she’s more active and wanna go out, not so much a thinker anymore. Good for her.

4. Sunday, 5 August 2007 - Fishing small fishes
Fish2_1

Taraaa…. my lil cousin, Alex, came to visit. So I got him around and play-play. Supposedly we went for swimming, or jogging, anything that make me sweat and lose a few calories. But then I was so busy cleaning my room (After Ching left, wanna packed anything unemployed so my room’s not so stuffy). Later in the afternoon, we managed to do something interesting. We went far deep (or behind) my dad’s workshop near the wood. There’s a pond. We catched a few gobi merak to  add on my mom’s collection at home. With fish net and pail, we’re working so hot under the sun. Then suddenly we saw this baby snake 30 cm long swimming in the pond and trying to jeopardize a frog. walaaoooo… scary lah. Go back home lah then. Too bad didnt bring camera.

Aha…. that’s all my sweet story of perfect weekend. So homey and lovely… spending time with family at home. Long time never feel this feeling :)
Hey, guys and gals… try this trick next week.
